The body wrap helps animals get a sense of their own body and will make them feel more confident. You can think of body wraps as "hugs" as they can calm the nervous system down in stressful situations. They are used for animals that are fearful, nervous, or hyperactive. They are also used to help injured animals during their recovery period. Older, arthritic animals, and dogs with hip dyplasia can also benefit from the use of a body wrap. Please be aware that the body wrap is not a substitute for quality veterinary care in the case of injured or sick animals.

The Tellington TTouch Method uses a variety of elastic bandages for the body wraps that we do. They are left on for short periods of time and only while the animal can be properly supervised.

Sometimes a t-shirt is used to calm a nervous or hyperactive animal. This can be a great help to a dog that is terrified of loud noises. Again, to be on the safe side, it is best to leave a t-shirt on only when the dog can be supervised.
